"Hi! This is Beverly for Expert Village. In this clip, we are going to be talking about how to prepare your home for your pet sitter. The first thing you need to do is make sure of your dates. Let her know exactly when you will be leaving for the airport and exactly when you will return that way she can plan accordingly for your pet. Make sure your pet sitter has a key to your house. This is the most important and also any mail box keys, gate codes or alarm codes that she might need to get in. Let your neighbors know that there will be someone coming into your house so that they are not alarmed when a stranger is coming in. If you have any plants like this one or the ones that you see behind me, gather them all together and put them next to the sink either in the kitchen or in the bathroom and leave a note to let your pet sitter know when they need to be watered and exactly how much. Make sure your house is neat and tidy. Take out any garbage or trash before you leave and let your pet sitter know when trash day is. If your house is prone to ants or other pests, make sure you leave out some bug spray so that the pet sitter can take care of any problems that arise. Close doors to rooms that you don't want your pet entering. If you have any dog gates, secure them before you leave and if you have any items that you think your pet might chew up or destroy while you are gone, make sure you pick them up and put them in a safe place. If your plans change and you think you won't be leaving or returning at the time you originally thought, let your pet sitter know as soon as possible. "
