"Hi! This is Beverly for Expert Village. In this clip, we are going to be talking about how to prepare your pets things before you leave on your trip. The first thing you need to do is pick up the yard and clean the litter box; that will help the pet sitter out a lot. Secondly you are going to want to leave a note that has detailed information about your pets care, their routine, what they eat and when they eat. Are they on any medications? Do they have any allergies? All these things will be appropriate. You will need to put your veterinarian's contact information down as well as your contact information on your trip so we can reach you in case of an emergency. All these things you want to leave out in a visible place so that pet sitter can find them because the more time she spends looking for these things, the less time that she is spending with your pet. So the first thing is food. Make sure to leave out enough food to last the entire time that you are gone and some treats that will make your pet more comfortable while you are gone. Leave out your pet's leash, his food bowls and water bowls so that the pet sitter doesn't have to look for those. If your pet has an accident in the house, your pet sitter is going to have to clean it up. So you are going to want to leave out some paper towel and some carpet cleaner. If you have hardwood floors or anything special, you are going to want to leave out your special cleaner for that. If you have a cat, you are going to want to leave out a dust pan and a whisk broom so that your pet sitter can clean up around the litter box. If you think it might rain while you are gone, make sure you leave out an old towel. This will help the pet sitter in case it rains so she can dry off your dog before she brings them back in the house. "
