"Hi! This is Beverly for Expert Village. In this clip, we are going to talk about scheduling your vacation animal care. One thing that boarding facilities and pet sitters are always juggling is the schedule. Make sure you give your facility at least a weeks notice before you leave town so that you can make sure they can fit your pet into their schedule. If you choose pet sitting, be clear about what times you want the sitter to come over and your pet's feeding schedule. If you choose boarding, make sure you are aware of the hours you can drop your pet off and pick them up. If the facility is closed on Sundays, you may have to wait until Monday to pick your pet up. Some times plans change, so if you have to cancel or change your service dates, let your pet care professional know as soon as you can. Be aware that there may be a cancellation fee if you do not give enough notice. The busiest time for any pet center or boarding facility is the holidays so if you know you are leaving at Thanksgiving or at Christmas, make sure you call months in advance. Often times you will know your schedule before hand. You know that you are leaving for those 4 days of Thanksgiving, you know that you will be gone for 2 weeks at Christmas, call as early as you can because everybody is leaving town at the same time and you want to make sure that your pet gets a spot.
