"Hi! I'm Beverly for Expert Village. If you are looking for a pet sitter, one of the best places you can start is on-line. Go to your favorite search engine and type in pet sitter and the name of your city and you should be able to find lots of different businesses that supply the service. Once you get to the website, you can surf around to find out who the owner is, what their staff is like, what their rates are and what their philosophy is about pet sitting. Another place you can go to on-line is pet sitter member organizations. These are organizations that pet sitters pay to belong to that supply them with education and tools about pet care. The first is Pet Sitters International or PSI and you can find them at www.petsit.com. Here you can locate pet sitters in your area. There is also the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters or NAPS and that is www.petsitters.org and there you can also get information about pet sitters and find some in your area. Now being a member of these organizations doesn't necessarily mean that your pet sitter is reputable but it does mean that they are trying to educate themselves about pets. If you don't feel comfortable going on-line, ask your friends and neighbors. They often times have pets and have had to go on vacation so they might know some reputable companies in your area. "
