"Expense of a dog. Dogs are really not as expensive as people would think. The major expense to a dog is most often feeding a dog. Averages show that feeding a dog can cost anywhere from two to four hundred dollars per year, per dog. Other expenses with owning a dog can be veterinarian visits, which average with a puppy, up to four hundred dollars when you first get your dog. After puppy costs, your dog only has to go to the vet annually, which can run anywhere from fifty dollars to a hundred dollars. There is, there is an option of dog insurance that is offered through many companies, which you can search further on the web. I'm familiar with certain prices with dog health insurance ranging anywhere from two hundred to four hundred dollars per year. Other grooming and health tools will only range fifty dollars to a hundred dollars per year, which isn't that expensive. "
