I'm here today on behalf Expert Village at the Tri County Humane Society in Boca Raton, Florida, where I have volunteered as a trainer and a behaviorist. We are here today to help you learn how to pick the perfect pert for you and your family. So if you are ready, let's get started. When going to a shelter to adopt the right dog for you and your family I think the most important thing is that you not to be in a hurry. There are so many pets out there that deserve wonderful homes like yours. It is important that you don't make snap decisions. Spend time with each individual dog that you might be interested in. Every single dog is different and every single family is different. If you find all of these to be a bit confusing don't hesitate to contact a professional or a trainer someone who has a lot of experience in matching pets with there families. A good trainer, a good behaviorist would not hesitate to go with you to a shelter to help you chose the right pet for you and your family. One thing that I have said many many times and believe completely in my heart of hearts is that there is always the right dog for every family, and the right family for every dog. Please take your time and find that perfect dog because remember this is a very long term commitment. When we adopt a dog we want it to be for the life of the pet.
