on 5/26/2009 aaahhh yeah I dont agree with this teaching at all! I watch the show it's me or the dog and this lady has been training dogs for 23 years and she treats them all the time, and it works! I have also heared various trainers say that positive reinforcement like giving praise or treats works the best when training a dog.

"HEY THIS IS RYAN GWILLIAMS WITH EXPERT VILLAGE IM GOING TO TEACH YOU SOME MICONCEPTIONS ABOUT REAL DOG TRAINING. LOT OF DOGS COME FOR TRAINING. WE JUST TEACH THEM TO SIT,COME STAY GOOD BOY, GIVE THEM A TREAT AND ALL THAT KIND OF STUFF. THAT'S ACTUALLY HUMAN PHYSICOLOGY. THATS WHAT WE WOULD USE ON PEOPLE TO GET THEM TO DO WHAT WE WANT THEM TO DO. FOR DOGS IT DOESNT WORK. DOGS LISTEN TO A VERY INSERTIVE PACNEAR AND THATS WHAT WE NEED TO BE FOR THEM. SO INSTEAD OF TEACHING IT TO SIT,STAY AND GIVE THEM A TREAT EVERYTIME THEY DO SOMETHING RIGHT. WE SHOULD EXPECT THE BEHAVOR. WE EXPECT THEM TO DO WHAT WE SAY. WHEN WE SAY IT. THATS THE END OF STORY. IF THEY DONT DO IT THEN THEY GET PUNISHED AND ITS NOT TO BE CRUEL ARE ANYTHING LIKE THAT. ITS JUST TO GET THEM STRUCTURED. TO GET YOUR DOG THE IMPROVEMENT HE NEEDS TO BE MENTALLY HEATHY. SO INSTEAD OF JUST TEACHING HIM TO SIT AND TO STAY ALL THE TIME. WE JUST NEED TO TEACH HIM WHO'S IN CHARGE AND THAT'S THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF TRAINING. HE KNOWS THE ACTIVE DOGS AND PEOPLE. AND THE PEOPLE ARE IN CHARGE. DOGS ARE SUMMISIVE TO THE LEADERS WHICH ARE THE HUMANS."
