Video Transcript

"My name is Phil Hoelcher and this morning and we are going to be talking a little bit about the sport of Schutzhund. We are going to try to show you a little bit about all three phases; the tracking, obedience and protection and give you an idea today a little bit of what the sport is all about. The tracking part for me is probably the most fun because it is really using the dog’s natural instincts but in the way in which we do it in the sport, we have got it down to a pretty fine science on how to get the dogs to very accurately track along the way, the dogs that are very good in tracking and the people that enjoy it, it is just quite amazing how good they can become. Good, that is the article; it should be right in between her front legs and if I ask her to show me the article, she will put her nose right on it and tell me that’s what it is. That’s good. Is that it? That’s very nice. That means you cannot eat hot dog until I tell you, good dog, yeah, good dog…. If you would like to talk further about Schutzhund or like to know anything else, you can e-mail me at philhoelcher@aol.com."
