"Hi, this is Ryan William with Expert Village. I'm going to teach you how to properly feed your dogs. First thing to know is that you shouldn't just leave food out for your dogs all the time. Your dogs in the wild would naturally have to work very hard for their food and water. We make them do the same thing; it only feels more natural for them. It lets them know we are the ones providing the food, and we are being very kind in giving it to them. I always take my dogs for a walk early in the morning, first thing, because they need to get all that extra energy out. Then they come home, and they're going to be hungry after working up that appetite. I bring them home after the walk and have them sit down in the kitchen, make them calm like this, and then grab two cups of food. I'll make them sit there, I'll pour it and make them wait. I usually get a drink of water because I'm thirsty after the walk. I'll make them sit there and wait, sometimes for a minutes and sometimes for ten minutes. They just have to sit there patiently until I decide it's time to eat, and then I'll say, "good boy." Then, they're not hungry right now but if they were, then they would jump right on the food, and they would know that it's my food, and I'm giving it to them. And they're honestly going to be very thankful for that, and they're going to feel a lot better about everything because it's more of a natural way for them to work for their food."
