"Pet sitters are a good idea if you are going to be at the office more than eight hours or you're taking a weekend or extended vacation. In my opinion, I always like to start with a family neighbor, a family member, a neighbor or a friend to watch my dog. But if one of those is not available, I would recommend a qualified pet sitter in your area, familiar with your breed and the neighborhood. Pet sitters either come on a allocated amount per day, two to three times, or they also do overnight stays, where they watch your house, water the plants, get the mail, feed your dog and just give them the attention that they need. I highly recommend checking past references and customers with any pet sitter to make sure that they are qualified and do a good job. Also I would, I would highly recommend requesting getting the same individual to come to your house, so you know it's the same person for the entire stay with your dog. "
