"To summarize the off command, it is a command used to prevent your dog from jumping on people, jumping on the bed and jumping on the couch. If they are on these objects, you want to use, use the command off. Off could also be used for any object that you want your dog to go from a higher level to a lower level. Around the house you can practice on any type of a step, a table or a stone, any item that is okay for your dog to be on. I wouldn't recommend practicing on the couch if you don't want the dog on the couch, because they could get into the routine of thinking it's a regular exercise to get up and off of that item. So to review, if your dog is on the bed or couch uninvited, approach with tin man, show them the treat, bait or grunt, command off, lead them with your arm. Off Koogle. Four paws on the floor, treat and praise. By following that simple off command it'll be a matter of no time until there is no dog hair on the bed. "
