Since dogs are inherently wild animals they all need some sort of training to become accustomed to their surroundings and the rules of your home. The most difficult part of this process is communicating with your dog in a civil, non-violent way that lets them know you are boss and this is the rule. By praising positive behavior and correcting or ignoring negative behavior you are able to show your pet what is acceptable and what is not in a loving way that does not make them fear you. This creates a relationship between you and your dog that is based on love and not temperament.
In this entertaining dog training video series you will learn a lot of tips and advice on how to be a good pet owner as well as how to positively create a bond between you and your dog. You will learn how to play games with your dog like fetch and how to train them not to jump on the furniture and to stay out of the trash. Do you live in a high traffic area? You might want to take a look at the clip on how to keep your dog out of the street. No matter who or where you are it's important to have control over your dog at all times and this series will get you a bit closer to it.
"Hi! Welcome to Expert Village. This is Marshall Mills and Possum my black lab. Possum is actually more of an expert than I am. I think it takes a good student to make an expert good at what they do. Possum is full of great tricks and simple tricks and just basic K9 behavior made easy for living in a small house or having a yard and not attacking the cats and little things like that. I actually saved Possum from a small ranch in Texas. She was the runt of her litter and nobody wanted her. The old lady that I went and visited just to say happy birthday to, she had a bunch of little poodle dogs. They apparently had chased Possum here behind the curtains. I heard some crying behind the curtains and I went behind the curtain, and here was baby Possum. She was crying and her ears were all torn up. She had worms and she had diseases; she was all beat up. I took her home and took her to the vet and got her all take care of and got her all healthy. Then she just started really learning very quickly and caught on to a lot of things, which is very devoted. Very protective of the house like this. Possum, who is it? Who is it? Who is it? Tell them. Who is it? She gets very protective of who's in the yard and who's stealing her toys. Who's stealing her all her toys? That's the beginning of Expert Village for Possum and Marshall."
