" Hi! I am Melanie McLeroy with Taurus Training for Expert Village and today we are going to talk about training dogs and we are going to talk about how to properly use a no- pull harness. This is Markie and she is very excited to go on her walks, but she has to sit before I will even put the harness on. Now Markie is one of those dogs really likes to pull, she is like a sled dog in lab disguise. You will see as we start walking she has to physically control herself. Well the no-pull harness is awesome because it is really gentle way for me to remind her that she needs to stay with me. Heel, good girl, come on, good girl. So when she starts all that leaping about, it is just a little bit of wrist action to get her back where I need her to be. Come on Marks, good girl, good girl, good girl, so right there, see, just a little pull and a release that is the key, not constant pressure, heel, good girl, good girl, excellent Markie. So right there, you see the correction, heel, good girl Marks and right there, just a little bit of gentle pressure and then a release that really helps the dog know what to do. Sit, it took about six months for Markie to learn to walk with an even partially loose leash. So be patient, your dog is worth it."
