"Walk to dog to treat and praise. My opinion is that until your dog understands "stay", I do not want you to call your dog to you. The purpose of this is so the dog learns isolation and waits for a release. If the dog doesn't understand the "stay", or waiting for a release, he will never truly master the "stay" command. So, Tin Man, sit, bait the dog, stay hand up, step back, hold three to five seconds, walk to the dog to treat. Also, like I've said in previous commands, always treat the dog flat handed, so they don't bite and hurt your fingers. As I said, walking to your dog to treat will show them to be immobile and wait until they're released. "
