"When to use the command, sit. I like to use the command sit in numerous ways throughout the day. Number one, before you feed your dog, get in the habit of having your dog sit. This will show them control and limit jumping. I like to visualize a treat as being a food bowl, hold the food dish and command sit. When the dog's sitting, put the food dish down. Another way to use the command sit is when you take your dog for a walk. And you come to a curb, command sit so in case they get off the leash, they would never run in the road. Check for traffic, praise with good sit and proceed across the street. Come on Kookes."
