Hi, this is Elise McMahon and in this video series we are talking about dog toys. If you would like to find out more about my services, you can visit my website at www.canineheadstart.com. So we’ve talked about what you can do with toys, what to do if your dog shreds toys, we’ve talked about what size toys are appropriate for what dogs and we’ve gone all over the different types of toys; what they are made of, what dogs like, what dogs don’t like. We are going to talk about specialty toys here so things that are sort of fun for us. The human component of these toys but also things that are fun for the dogs. It is unbelievable the different kinds of toys they make for dogs. Here for example, great blue heron and I love watching them fly overhead. Here I found a great blue heron dog toy. Its got the rope toy component that we talked about earlier. It’s got the squeak toy like component that we talked about earlier. It is a nice plush toy and it is a nice toy. I don’t mind having this toy lying around on my rug. This is a specialty toy. What else we have here? We’ve got a moose for those outdoor types. Okay. Again, we’ve got the squeaker. We’ve got the handsome moose design. It is a nice quality toy. It is well made. I don’t have to worry about the dogs playing with it and again, I don’t mind it lying around on the floor in the house. Another specialty toy we got here is an octopus. Quite cute and quite funny. This one also has a squeaker but I’m quite sure that the squeaker has been killed. So even actually a good point to bring up here is you can see that the squeaker might have been killed but the toy itself is still intact. So another specialty type toy is an octopus. Another fun toy, a frog. This toy is actually about 3 years old. Great looking toy, fun and oh no don’t tell me, it’s been killed. Oh it made the funniest noise. It actually "ribbeted" like a frog. I’ll have to get another one of these but the toy itself is still intact. Dogs have a lot of fun playing with it and you don’t mind it sitting on your floor. Okay things that dogs find interesting. Here are two different types of specialty toys based on the same idea. This is squirrels in a tree house. Okay so we’ve got the little squirrels, they are all poking their heads out of the tree house. For dogs that like to take things apart, this is a great toy. They can grab one of these squirrels; pull it right out of there. The squirrel itself squeaks. It actually becomes four toys in one. With a different squirrel they can pull them right out and play with them. Another one on the same line, this is actually a bee hive but its got birds actually living in it. I think the bees have gone missing. Same thing, got the toys that dogs can pull them out, gives them the pleasure of taking things apart a little bit. I have yet to figure out how to teach the dog how to put the toys back inside the little house but I am working on it.
