"Hello! I'm coming to you from Dogma Premier Dog Spa in Wayne, Pennsylvania and today we're going to do some demonstrations on how you can do creative coloring for your pet. We use completely safe nontoxic materials. One technique you will see we will wash off pretty much immediately. The other technique fades over time and it may take up to 6 weeks to wash off completely. Okay, this is Anna. Anna is a toy poodle, a little bit chubby toy poodle. Before we start the color application on the dogs, it's very important that they care clean and well groomed. Part of that is making sure that the ears are clean, nails are trimmed, and the coat is free of tangles. We're going to start off with the tough part, which is making sure the coat is free of tangles. Her coat has been recently taken down pretty short so that's really not too difficult. Start with a slicker brush. We just call it a universal slicker brush. Very gently going all over the dog, especially on the areas that are really long. After you think they're brushed, then you take the comb and check for any tangles. You want to take the fine edge of the comb and really take it through and make sure that you didn't miss anything because it's very easy to miss knots."
