"Hi I'm Jim Leske, animal trainer/behaviorist with Expert Village. We're here today to talk about our last topic and that is, transporting animals. Remember if you're flying away, your dog is going to get shipped as cargo. Whenever freight gets bounced around, there's no temperature control in those cargo holds, so keep that in mind, especially if you are traveling in winter time. Some airlines, not all airlines, some airlines, your dog will literally be treated like freight. Not all airlines will do that, but I do know for a fact that it does happen. Keep that in mind when transporting your animals. Also, remember, leaving them in a car, especially here in southern California, it gets hot and running into the market just for a minute, you know as well as I do, a minute turns into five minutes and the temperature can change easily by at least 20 to 40 degrees in those five minutes. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for the dog. Also remember that in many cases, animals are stolen out of cars, thinking that nobody would open the door because your dog is in there. There's no telling where your dog would end up and we just don't want to see that happen; especially in the warmer months, it's just better to keep them at home. I'm Jim Leske. Thanks for watching."
