" Hi! My name is Gretchen Brown. I have been teaching conformation training and handling professionally for 20 some odd years. I am coming today on behalf of expertvillage.com to teach you how to train and show your show dog. The other thing you need to do is make sure that your dog is clean for the show ring. You want to bathe your dog several days before it is being shown. That gives it time for the correct oil to come back into the coat so that the coat has the correct texture for its breed standard. You also want to make sure that their teeth are clean. If they need a trip to the vet and have their teeth scraped have it done a week or two in advance, you want their ears clean, again not the morning of the show but a day or two in advance. You want to make sure that your dog is presentable and clean and pleasant to touch. Nothing worse than going into the ring and having a dog that smells or feels dirty. I hope I have been of some help to you this afternoon. You can contact me through the web site commanddogtraining.com. We run classes every Wednesday night and we are based out at Fort Lauderdale. Thank you. "
