"Hi, I'm Jim Leske, Animal Trainer and Behaviorist for Expert Village. Today we're with Bear and we're talking about appearance and grooming for advanced training. An important thing to remember is that in a hospital environment they have to be bathed and groomed every time they go in to the hospital. Also remember that all kinds of strangers are going to be touching them, petting them, hugging them, many of them are going to be, this could be their first time around a dog and they're craving attention in many many different ways. So it's very important for the dog to be accustomed to all kinds of strange things, stuff like this and bear hugs and rubbing all over and all kinds of crazy stuff and it's very good if they can be very calm and touched in any place whatsoever and you see Bear is doing very very very good job, very good boy. And even the possibility is that somebody in a hospital could be physically challenged then grab her in different ways so even if I was to do this (demonstrating) you see Bear remains calm, friendly, outgoing because he's just a wonderful dog, such a good boy, yes, oh yes, he's ferocious isn't he. Bear you did very good, thanks for putting up with us. I'm Jim, this is Bear and thanks for watching."
