Video Transcript

"Hi! My name is Gretchen Brown. I have been teaching conformation training and handling professionally for 20 some odd years. I am coming to teach you how to train and show your show dog. Another pattern you will want to teach your dog is called down and back. You go straight away from the judge and back to the judge. Before you move off find a fixed point away from you that you can move toward. Otherwise you have a dog that zigzags all down the ring and the judge cannot see it. When you get to the end where you are turning around turn around, look at the judge, then come back. If it is a young dog slow down, do not try and move them at the speed that you want to when they are a finished product. Keep them moving slow until you teach them where they are going and how to do this. I hope I have been of some help to you this afternoon. You can contact me through the website commanddogtraining.com. We run classes every Wednesday night and we are based out at Fort Lauderdale. Thank you."
