"So we are going to do a example now how you can teach a alternative greeting position in this case we are going to use a sit. Later on we would demonstrate it in a stand but right now we are going to do it in a sit and this puppy have been though a behavior which is slap me 5. There is 2 things you can do now when she is greeting somebody that are alternative to running up and jumping on them. So we are just going to demonstrate that with her and we would see how that goes. Come on. What I'm going to do I'm going to instruct the person who is greeting not to interact with her until she is sitting. Let's go, good girl, good job. Raven sit, good girl, wait. So Wes is not going to interact with her until she is sitting and you can ask her to slap you five. Hi baby slap me 5. Come on, good girl. Good job! So this gives Raven something to do other then running up and jumping on and saying hi to a person which she would normally love to do. Hey if she want to lie down she can do that as well, it is a little bit hot out today but you can see that can make a approach and ask the dog to do 1 or 2 things and then after she has done them she gets the attention and greeting form the person. So we are going to try it now with the stand this way. Let's go, good girl, Raven wait, stand. Hi how are you? Good. Good do you want to greet my dog. Hi Raven hello. So if she is standing politely and she is not jumping she gets greeted by the person, she even gets a cookie from me because she was such a good girl. Good job, okay now we can walk away from the situation and we manage to get in and out of a greeting situation without having the person being jumped on. "
