"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Carlos Puentes with K-9 Solutions Dog Training in Miami, Florida, and today we're going to talk about dog training myths from my new book, Who's Training Whom? Whenever you're training a dog or trying to introduce a dog to something, you should always be positive. You sit down in the pool steps or by the shore, you give them some food. Have them focus on the food first before he's already scared because if he's already scared and you introduced the food to him, he's going to hate it. That's what you do when you're desensitizing a dog if he already has fear of the water. If you want to introduce them to water in the right way, it's just little baby steps.
