I'm Carlos Puentes with K-9 Solutions Dog Training in Miami, Florida, and today we're going to talk about dog training myths from my new book, Who's Training Whom? Okay, people figure, I have a huge background, now I can have a puppy or a dog so it can run around all over the place. It's really no good to that be the source of this exercise. In other words, running with the dog or walking with him is a great way to bond with your dog. He's releasing physical energy, plus mental energy. If he's in a heel, he has to be right next to you. He's either your buddy. In other words, come on buddy heel. Heel. Now he's not in front of you. Then he gets in a tracking mode after a while. That's the best way to bond with a dog to release his energy. In a yard he's bouncing off the walls. Goldfish, they're in an aquarium. You give them food every two days or whenever you're supposed to, and everything is great for the fish because he's where he wants to be. He wants to be in the water. But a dog, wolves do it all the time. A dog needs to walk and be in a tracking mode.
