Video Transcript

"Hi! This is Elise McMahon for expertvillage.com. In this video series, we are going to be talking about teaching your dog a reliable recall. If you would like to find out more about my services, you can visit my website at canineheadstart.com. So in this short clip, we are going to be talking about the training aspect of teaching your dog a reliable recall. What we want to do is use positive reinforcement to modify the dogs behavior. So we are going to have Sue back up over here a little bit and without saying anything, when Teddy comes toward her, she is going to reward her. Teddy, this way. I am going to just ignore him until he goes back over to Sue. Yes, good and she is using positive reinforcement to modify his behavior. See if we can get him to do that again. Yes, there we go. So without actually telling the dog anything, we are reinforcing him for coming back to her. We are reinforcing him for modifying his behavior. We are going to continue talking about to train your dog for a reliable recall in the next couple of videos. "
