"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Carl Puentes with K-9 Solutions in Miami, Florida and today I am going to show you dog training techniques from my new book, "Who is training Whom." Over 50 percent of the dogs that I have come into contact with, have some type of separation anxiety. Some are worse than others. It is a main contribution to behavior problems. Constructive chewing problems, house breaking problems, excessive barking problems and the way you want to start teaching your dog to be alone from you is it shouldn't be so drastic. Leave a light on, radio, ween them off of you before you leave. You don't want to pay attention to them and give them to many bye kisses before you leave. It will drive them crazy and he will let it out on all those problems which for him is not a problem. When you start figuring out why the dog is doing all those things, then you would be able to take care of the problem. I don't know how to be alone from my own problem. I don't know what else to do with my energy problem. So I will tear up the house or I will bite the door frames to get to where my owner is. Bark and bark and bark thinking he will hear my call and come back and rescue me. It's a problem for the neighbors. The way you do it is that you just keep them in the crate a little bit while you are there. "
