"Hi! This is Elise McMahon for Expert Village.com and in this video series we are talking about house training your dog. If you would like to find out more about my services you can visit my website at canineheadstart.com. So we are going to be talking about how to clean up an accident if it occurs in the house. We are going to start off with how to clean up an accident where the dog has peed in the house. You want to take your paper towels, take a large loose bunch and you are going to gently absorb the urine. What you want to do is to avoid pressing or rubbing the urine into the rug. Once you’ve got that saturated, again you are going to take another loose bunch and you are going to gently pat the area to absorb as much of the urine that you can. You do not want to do this. Okay. We don’t want to be rubbing the urine into the floor. The action is a gentle patting motion. Once you’ve absorbed as much of the liquid from the urine that you can, you are going to take your spray with your enzyme breaking down liquid in it and you are going to thoroughly spray the area. Once you’ve sprayed the area, you can go again and lift up that liquid you just put down and it is going to be pulling out the urine that was further down in the rug that you didn’t get. Again, you are doing a gentle patting motion. You can repeat a couple of times and then with a spray of the area. If this was poo, you would have your newspapers and your little scoop, your little shovel here and you would come up tight underneath the area, get the poop into your scooper and deposit onto your newspapers. You can leave your shovel there then you are going to spray the area, pat it dry with your paper towel, dispose of your paper towel in a plastic bag, spray the area, pat it dry until it comes up clean and till your coming up without any more brown in it. What I suggest is after you’ve got your puppy house broken, you’ve cleaned up a number of accidents in different parts of your house, you want to have a professional service come in and clean all of your rugs. You want to wait to do this until your puppy is fairly reliable or until you are fairly reliable and you’ve learned how to get your puppy out in time. "
