"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Carl Puentes from K-9 Solutions in Miami, Florida and today I am going to show you dog training techniques from my new book, "Who is Training Whom." Okay to train a dog for a down by the side, pretty simple. Basically you pull up on the leash a little bit, a little bit to the side, your hands by your should, have yuour hand open and the palm goes down the dog's right eye to the collar and pushes down and inward. Down. Good down. Give him a reason to want to do it. Praise him a lot. Good boy. Good down. Good doggy down. If you push this way, he can't get up. He will try to get up but he can't and he goes down but if you do it this way, he will stand right up, if he wants to. Here buddy, sit. You never want to do it like this. See that. Sit. You want to make sure that it is down and inward. Down. "
