Series Summary

We have all seen the cute commercials with the dogs doing all kinds of cute tricks. At times these dogs seem almost human! Teaching your dog different tricks is a great way to spend time with and enjoy your pet. Paw tricks can be great fun for both you and your dog and paw tricks are also easy tricks that your dog can master very quickly.

"Everybody wants their dog to know how to shake hands. It's one of the first things we teach them. It's also one of the easiest things to teach them because as puppies that's how they get their food. They're doing this to mom to get their food. They're doing it to push others away so they can get their first. So, when we're teaching it we already have our sit trained and we're going to encourage her to put the foot forward that we want. I don't put names to it until they give me a reliable response. I'm going to do here and to get it, good! And then she's getting the treat under her foot. Good girl! For this dog, that's high five. High five! Good girl! Good. And as she gets even better at it, I'll do it from a distance. High five! No, try again. Good! Good."
