"When you're grooming your long coated dog breed, you might want to use some coat spray. Coat spray can be useful because it will dampen the coat while you're doing the brushing and you're less likely to break the coat hair. In this bottle I have a mixture of water and a coat spray type that I have diluted actually in here. I've got it in my own spray bottle. What you would do is you would simply spray the coat down a little bit and then take your brush and brush through the coat. This coat spray that I've made with the dilution of water has got a nice pleasant odor, nice scent to it. When you're brushing through the coat, which is a little bit damp, it's just making the coat less likely to break. If you're working with a male dog then in the groin area in front of the penis, this coat tends to get urine on it. It can be very important to spray through that, damping it a little bit before brush through the coat because coat will be sticky and if you brush through it when it's dry and sticky you're more likely to break coat. You can see that it's damp and the brush is moving through very easily. Another type of coat spray when you're finished grooming. There are a number of different fragrant sprays that you could use when you're all done your grooming. Spray the finishing spray on your dog, brush it through and this just has a pleasant odor to it. You can either purchase different scented sprays, which are finishing sprays. You can also make your own, which would be more of a grooming spray. Again, this is just water that I've used, just plain water, mixed with a mild solution, which is a grooming solution and kept in my own spray bottle. Make sure that you close your spray bottle before you put it back in your grooming box. Using a coat sprayer really helps keep the coat nice and keep the hairs from breaking."
