"So another kind of rake that you can use to get undercoat out your dog is a V rake. I have one here in my grooming box. A couple of different companies make them. Whatever is going to be most comfortable in your hand in terms of fit and size. You can see that this rake is bent a little bit. It's not straight. You hold it in your hand and the rake is actually bent at a slight angle. These tines are fixed into the plastic base. There are some that have the rotating tines as well, but this ones fixed into the base. This is a good tool to take out undercoat out of a dog who has perfused undercoat, and you would work this tool in sections. Holding the coat the base, you would work this tool through the coat to get at the undercoat. Once you've got the undercoat lifted up, then you can use your slicker of your pin brush to remove the hair. Again, we're just taken undercoat out. So it's a slightly different kind of rake it can be used lengthwise, which makes it a little bit more like the T rakes we were looking out. Or it can be used the V pattern to really get into those spots where you want to remove the undercoat from the dog. Again, it's going to be a matter of preference for you. What's comfortable when you decide to go out and buy one. Which one fits into your hand, which one you like the look of, but it's just a different style and excellent for removing undercoat from a coated breed."
