"So we are going to demonstrate how to take care of the leg hair and again, we are talking about, we are really focusing on doing this at home so this is for the pet dog owner. We are going to work right now on the back leg here, the coated breed. You can see the coat starts up here and keeps going down. So there is just a lot of coat everywhere. So where do you start? Let's see if we can find some mats on this dog. I am going to start off with my slicker brush and I am going to start low down by the hock; so here's the pad, the base of the foot and here's the dog's hock right here. I am going to start right here and I am holding the hair and running the slicker through the long coat and I am holding the coat if I come across a matted area, I am going to be pulling the dog's coat. No dog is going to want to lie down and get brushed if they know every time it happens, they get their hair pulled. So we are working our way gradually up the leg using our slicker brush; gradually going up the leg taking little pieces, little sections at a time. Now I am getting to an area that there is a denser mass of hair so I am taking small sections here and I am brushing them out, gradually working up the knee, the stifle area and I am working slowly enough so I am not going to be pulling any hair out, gradually working up th leg of the dog.
