"For basic in home care for your coated breed, you are going to want to pay attention to the dog's feet. So coated breeds have hairy feet and the more they have on their feet, the more stuff they are actually going to be bringing into your house. So you want to be able to trim the dog's feet to maintain not just a nice trim look but also reduce the amount of hair that is tracking things in. Working on the feet you are going to be able to find out whether or not they have anything lodged in between their toes so you are going to check in between the toes and make sure there is nothing stuck in there. If the dogs go in the woods a lot, they could have vegetation, plants. So the first thing is to comb the hair out and the we've got our scissors. We are going to do a foot trim. So once we've got the hair combed out, we want to see where the nails come to and we just going to trim the foot hair. "
