Series Summary

Grooming is an essential part of your dog's health and happiness. Brushing fur and trimming nails not only keep a dog looking great, but also keep fur mats from forming and prevent your dog from developing broken, painful nails. Grooming can also promote bonding between you and your dog. If routinely groomed, many dogs will enjoy their regular brushing and come to see it as a form of petting. In addition to brushing and trimming nails, cleaning your dog's ears and eyes will allow a dog owner to inspect for any health problems, or insects. Adjusting your dog to a grooming routine early, ensures that not only will your dog be comfortable with you and professional dog groomers, but will lead a long, happy, and good looking life.

Poodles are one of the most groomed dogs around with their fancy top knot and theatrical tufts of fur. In this free video series our expert will show you how to groom a poodle. You will learn how to use clippers to shave the poodle's face, front and back paws and hind quarters. You will also learn how to trim the body fur and get tips on using scissors to trim the legs and tail. If you have a poodle and want a nice, simple cut for your dog, let our expert show you these easy dog grooming tips.

Video Transcript

"Now we're going, we're going to clip the dog's face. Here we have the clippers and the dog's face. The dog's face goes from here to the eye. We start off at the ear, and go forward toward the eye, down the cheek into a little V shape at the bottom. And we go against the grain. Between the eyes, we use a V shape, go this way and this way. I'm using a clipper vac that keeps the hair off of the dog's face and off of you. Oh. You want to make sure and get around the mouth really good and clean up the rest. And we have a clippered dog's face."
