Series Summary

Fish is one of the primary sources of food for more than a few nations around the world. In its nearly infinite variety, fish serves as a healthy, low fat/high protein meat for just about any dish, and it can be prepared poached, pan fried, breaded, deep fried, baked, broiled, and grilled. Fish are one of the Earth’s most precious natural resources, not only for their roles in the ecosystems of a thousand waters, but also because they provide a renewable source of food for people who would otherwise starve. Due to the poor implementation of modern developments in technology, pollution and overfishing have begun to ravage this supply, spiking shortages of fish in many areas.

In this free cooking video series, learn some of the many ways to prepare a fish dish. Our expert chef will walk you through some of important food handling safety and sanitation guidelines, as well as explain what temperature to cook fish at, which fish to choose for your entrée, and how to create a complimentary marinade. Then he’ll show you ways to cook fish, including how to pan fry, bake, poach, and how to make batter dipped deep fried fillets. Most importantly, look for tips on how to tell when your fish is done cooking. Enjoy!

" Hello this is Chef Sean Roe on behalf of expertvillage.com today I'm going to be reviewing the basic fish preparations. Over here I have all my means and plus we are going to be exploring four cooking methods for fish. We will be doing a pouching, a deep fry, a batter dip deep fry, a flour and shallow pan fry, and a baking method. The fish that we will be working with today is a orange ruffy it is a very nice flaky tender fish. We have all of our other materials need to make our marinades white wine, lemon juice, vinegar. We have everything we need for our breading and for our battering we have all purpose flour, eggs, we have olive oil, and our spices which we would be using thyme, rosemary, paprika, and chili powder, salt, pepper, some melted butter to add make some moisture. So with no further do lets get started."
