"Hi, I'm chef Rainer Wickel and I'm here today with expertvillage.com. Well we've grated our potatoes and we've squeezed the liquid out of them and now we're ready to make the mixture. And now I'm going to show you how we prepare our ingredients to put into the mixture to get the potato pancakes ready for frying. Well, we're gonna need about a quarter onion that we're gonna grate into the mixture, two cloves of garlic. We're going to use sour cream and basically this is for the taste, it's gonna give it that nice tangy taste. Salt and pepper for seasoning. We'll be using two tablespoons of flour and this we're going to use to bind the potato mixture together to get it ready for frying. We're also going to need one beaten egg. So what you wanna do first is you want to cut the onion, just cut it into a quarter. Then go ahead and cut the sides off of this because we want to make sure that we just get onion in the mixture. You know, don't worry about taking the top off of this because remember we're going to be using a grater for this and we don't want the large onion pieces in there. What we're going to be doing is we're going to be putting a onion paste in there with a really fine grating, it's gonna come out as a paste. We're not really gonna use the whole thing, you know, we're probably gonna use about half of it. And then do the same thing with the garlic, you want to cut the ends off, and do that with the second piece. And the reason we do this is because then it is a lot easier to peel it. So you can see right here, we just peel the top off of it and we just want to have the pure clove of garlic because we're going to be putting this through a garlic press. So go ahead and do that with both cloves. And now the garlic and the onions are gonna give it a really, really good flavor. So we're good there. And then we want to take one egg, we're gonna break that into a bowl. And then take a fork and go ahead and beat the egg and you just wanna make sure, you wanna beat that egg yolk and the egg white together cause we want that a nice consistency so it mixes nice and even with the potato mixture. Alright, that looks good. We we have the egg ready, we have the garlic ready for the garlic press, we have an onion ready for grating and all the rest of the ingredients for flavoring and this is how we prepare all the ingredients to get ready to mix with the potato mixture so that we can fry our potato pancakes."
