"As regards to cooking, I also wanted to talk about the benefits and the medicinal properties of the herbs and spices we use. Let's talk about turmeric. Turmeric is basically a turmeric root and you dry it up and make the powder. Turmeric has anti-bacterial properties just like Neosporin powders. If you have a cut, or a scrap, or a wound, take some turmeric powder and sprinkle it over. It's going to act just as well as Neosporin. It also has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. You can use it as a facial. Mix it with milk and use it as facial. It helps to prevent acne. It's regular use with milk is known to heal the body. Like if you have some kind of internal injuries, we drink turmeric with milk and it's known to heal the internal injuries also. While cooking or doing anything with it, please be careful. The stain is really hard to come off. You're going to have to use bleach and clean and everything else. I just want to say we use this as daily part of our cooking, so I think automatically Indians get the benefits of it in everyday basis. Try to and use a little bit of turmeric in your daily cooking. It'll do you good."
