"I'm Ivan Madar. I'm a professional ski instructor and I'm here on behalf of Expert Village. Now we are beginning to get to the stage where we can link these parallel turns. You've already learned how to edge. You've learned how to balance yourself over your feet. Now, we are trying to incorporate it into the turn which should be very smooth, and how to set your edges into the turn as soon as possible which is the foundation of beginning to carve your turn (which is a very advanced maneuver, but it is useful even at this point). So, you need to pick up a little steeper slope or pick up more speed. And what you do is, you start rolling your knees into the turn on the outside, I mean on the inside edges and start pointing the tips down the hill. Remember, the body is to move in this direction towards the next turn. You don't try to incorporate this movement (up and down). It's extending downhill that is important to initiate your turn. Okay? So, let's see how it looks. Now, those were nice linked, slow speed, parallel turns (what we call a wide track parallel). Now, we have achieved the level at which you could probably ski on most of the intermediate slopes."
