"In this segment, we're going to talk a little bit about common mistakes that I see people make on a daily basis. Things that you should try to avoid. A lot of times, I see people leaning in the back seat when they're trying to make their turns. That is to say, their weight is up the hill as opposed to down the hill. That's a problem, because your power you?re steering comes out of your front foot. And, when you lean back off of your front foot it's basically like you're driving and taking your hands off the wheel. You don't really want to do that on your snowboard. If you're finding that you're having trouble controlling your board, just try to lean with the mountain. You'll be surprised how easy and how simple that can make things. Another common mistake I see a lot, is vision and clarity. A lot of times, snowboarding can be as easy as looking up. A lot of times, people tend to look down. Because, they are scared. But, what happens when you look down is your weight gets thrown off. Your weight is all of a sudden up here and hunched over. When you're snowboarding you want to be straight, standing up, confident, back straight. This distributes your weight evenly on your legs. So, that's another thing that I would say just try and keep your eyes up. A lot of times too, if you find yourself going towards something that you don't want to go to, a tree or a person or a lift pull. Sometimes, all of you have to do is look away from what you're doing. Because, your eyes move your head. Your head moves your shoulders and your shoulders move your hips. And, ultimately what controls your snowboard is your hips."
