"In this segment, we're going to talk a little bit about falling. It's something everybody does. Get used to it. You're going to do it a lot in your first day of snowboarding. But, don't let it discourage you. Falling is just another way of teaching you how to do it right. The most common mistake that people have when they fall, is they put their arms out to catch themselves. This can break your wrist or your thumb. It's putting all of your momentum on one of the most weakest parts of your body. When you fall down either way, even backwards it can break your wrist break your arm. We don't want to do that. That can often happen if you don't, if you have a flat edge. If you can see, when I have a flat base, it build snow up in front. That will catch your edge and cause you to go forward. If you do fall forward, it's alright. It happens to the best of us. Just try not to keep your arms out. Try and take it with your shoulder, your chest, your back. Anything but your arms. It might hurt a little bit, but it's better than breaking a bone."
