"A lot of the time if you notice that your bike is making a noise that doesn't sound good, that noise doesn't sound good because it is very bad noises that indicate there's a problem with your bike. The most common is cricking. You'll find this a lot of times if you're pedaling when you really start stepping on the pedal, then something will start cricking. That right there is a bad noise as well, but that's a whole other issue. Cricking is generally caused by medal parts moving against one another without proper lubrication. You'll find that often times with your pedals if your pedals aren't tight enough and your crank arms, they'll crick if your crank arms are actually too loose that often will crick sometimes it means you need to lubricate your chain. So basically you have cricking problems you're going to want to locate where it is on your bike. Take everything apart, release it tightened again and the problem should go away. If that problem hasn't gone away it probably means something is broken and could be a sign of a much more serious problem. Another problem, problem noise is rattling, usually you'll find that coming from your front end and that is often an indication that your headset is loose. Basically your stem right here, should act as piece of compression device to basically keep these barrings tight in the races. And if you have a rattling in your front end, you want to make sure to track that down because you can actually do a vast of damage to a frame very quickly by riding with a loose headset. Tightening it is very simple, you simply loosing the pinch bolts on your stem and then you tightened this cap here, you know righty tighty and then you tightened your pinch bolts and you should be good to go. Other issues if you have rattling, then you grab your wheel and move it back and forth, that's if you're not a very inexperience bike mechanic is something you should probably have a local bike shop do it. But at the same time it's also a very good skill to learn, it often has to do with tightening your cone nuts very simple fix but again you can do a numeralable damage simply by riding your bike with loose parts. You want to make sure that your bike is always nice and tight."
