"A very important element in how your bike feels is the amount of tire pressure that you're wanting. It's a very often overlooked concern. Most tires you're going to want to run somewhere between 65-85 PSI, I run my tires pretty hard. This back one right now is at 90 PSI and the front right here is about 65 PSI. I run harder PSI in the back because I find that generally I land back wheel first and if I run a softer back tire I actually get more pinch flats. The same time if you have a softer front tire it actually adds a little bit of a suspension almost, if you land very hard. And so having a slightly softer front tire you're less likely to get pinched flats can actually save your wrist a whole lot of pain. At the same time you don't want to exceed the ratings for your tires. Those ratings that are on your sidewalls are there for a reason. And often times you're going to find that they have 65 PSI rating, you can can get higher pressure rated tires which is often a good idea. Especially for the back and if you find that you're getting a lot of pinched flats, you're generally going to want to increase your tire pressure until that is less than a concern. Having too soft of tires make your handles sluggishly and make it roll slower, but having a harder tire pressure is going to allow a lot of vibrations that come through your bike to come through more and actually can cause wrist pain among other things."
