on 11/13/2009 Thank you for the video. Nice to know. I'm 5'8" and I don't feel comfortable at all on my Haro so I'll start with the handle bars! I was going to go with 8.5 rise but you've convinced me to go with 8.

Thanks again for the Video!!

"One of the most commonly overlooked factors in fitting a BMX bike has to do with the size within the handlebars. A lot of people especially taller people, will get on a BMX bike and they just don't feel comfortable and despite the frame size they can't figure out why. For a lot of people the handlebars are the answer. Most complete bikes come with a lower narrow pair of handlebars and they will generally fit somebody who's sort of 5'6 to about 5'10. If you fall above that range of height usually a pair of taller handlebars something in the 8" range and a pair of handlebars that are wider are going to make you feel a lot more comfortable on your bike. A lot of people, even shorter people have been switching to larger handlebars as of late 2 that gives them better control of the bike, which I think is very valid comment. A pair of smaller handlebars will also make some tricks easier especially bar spins and certain spinning tricks. Handlebars that are both lower and narrower so then again there isn't any hard fast rule about what is the correct size handlebars giving your height or body type. A big issue is actually your riding style and it may take some experimentation with different handlebars but a good pair of handlebars will really make the difference in making sure that you feel comfortable on your bike."
