"The most common measurement for BMX frame sizes is the top 2 length, this measurement measures from the center of your head tube right here to the center of the seat tube. While it isn't necessarily the most precise measurement for a bike it's often the best that you have. For me personally, I'm 6 feet tall and I ride a bike with a 21 inch hoop tube and it fits me perfectly however, to a great degree there's a lot of personal taste involved. I have friends who are taller than me who ride shorter bikes and vise versa. One of the benefits of riding a longer bike is that overall you get a wheel base which is this distance between the center of front wheel and the center of the back wheel. The longer the wheel base, the more stable your bike is going to be at speed and that will work to your advantage doing higher speed tricks at the same time. Having that added stability is going to make certain spinning tricks more difficult. Another consideration in this is your back end length basically this is the length from the center of the crank to the back axle. Which again this is going to affect the ability of the bike, with the shorter back end is going to pick up more easily your going to have, you'll expand less effort to pick up the front wheel but at the same time once you get it up your going to have a harder time balancing on the back wheel. So for me personally, I like the little longer back end length."
