"Cleaning the stern end of our cartwheels is the easiest way to get into doing true clean cartwheels. What I'm going to do for a stern end clean cartwheel is a strong bow intimation, so sinking my bow down with a lot of speed and then winding up for the stern end. The more I wind up the more I'm pulling the bow through the air. It really allows that stern to fly freely. Try and reach up into the air a bit so that you don't even want to use your paddle. You also want to be looking back towards the hole as your boat comes around. The more you scoop your edges through, that adds that bonus energy in. It allows the air in our boat to keep rolling through the move."
