"For whitewater kayaking there are 5 essential pieces of equipment you don't want to go without them. First of all you got your paddle they is the proper size and fit for you and what you are using. That is what I have here. Next is your boat of course the kayak that fits you and the type of river that you are going to be on. You also need your PFD which is your personal flotation device I have on here that fits snuggly and it is comfortable. The your spray skirt which you put on the cockpit rim to keep the water out of the boat and last but not least of course your helmet. Your helmet is very important it protects your head from anything that may get in the way it could be your own paddle and it has to fit properly so right under the chin. You want to be able to make sure that it covers the front part of your head. So 5 essential pieces is what you need when you go kayaking, when you have these 5 pieces you then full outfitted. The other things you may think about is proper clothing and footwear so we would discuss those later."
