"Another use of this rescue jacket is the live bait rescue. Now, this is also known as dope-on-a-rope and the reason for that is someone in a rescue jacket has to be tethered on to the quick release belt and they're then gonna swim out attached to the end of a line that is being belayed by someone on shore, who can then grab on to either an unconscious person, another raft if it's stuck somewhere, or a pin to get a rope out there. This is a high exposure situation for the person on the end of the rope so it's something you want to consider pretty carefully before going to do it. If you're setting it up pre-emptively the sort of thing you're going to be looking for are extremely sticky holes or places where your fellow boaters can get stuck. So, this is something that you will have pre-planned for while scouting rapids and running down them, taking into consideration what you need. "
