"Now, when receiving a bag, you're actually the person in the water getting the end of this, you want to remember a few simple rules. One, is that you always grab the rope and you don't grab the bag. That way, if there's still twenty or thirty feet of rope left in the bag you don't travel that twenty or thirty feet downstream before you get a sharp tug and get ripped off the end of the bag. Also, you just make sure that it flows free of you and you're not going to get coiled around anything. When you grab a hold of the rope, you want to make sure you grab it with two hands, lay it over your shoulder and lie on your back. Never, ever wrap anything around yourself as if this comes tight you won't be able to release as easily. The next thing is, when you do get the rope and you're in the water place it over the far shoulder and that way you'll get swung into shore more easily. For the person throwing the bag, always make sure that you get their attention by shouting "ROPE", wait for that eye contact, and swing them in."
