"When setting up safety with a throw bag, you want to consider your placement but also the placement of where the potential incident might occur. Dealing first where you want to put yourself, think about what you are standing on and where you could potentially go. Anytime you throw a bag it is going to go out in the river and get pendulumed down stream so you want to make sure that you've got somewhere safe down stream that person is going to swing into and you are not swinging them into further danger. Where you are, you also want to consider what is at your feet. So standing on an edge of a ______is probably not the best idea. Moving down to a more secure location where you've got rocks to brace yourself against in front of you if the tension is on something to fall back into to lean against and also a place to move down stream nice and quickly if that is really necessary.
