"On behalf of Expert Village I am Dan Foss and I am here to tell you about paint ball. I am here to tell you about maintenance on the markers. A lot of people will go to a big chain outlet and pick up a marker. They will take it out of the box and not even read the instructions and put CO2 or high pressure air to it and go out and start shooting. The problem with that is most of those markers have been sitting in the store for a couple of years and also they are not high quality and they have had to reduce the quality of the internal parts so they are a little inferior to what we actually sell here in the store. The marker will come out of the box firing at 350 feet per second and it would probably be good for 1,000 or 2,000 rounds and now you can't get it over 150 feet per second which most of us are out there playing at 275. You never want to take these markers apart if there is a problem with it. You can bring it to our store and my son and I are both basic air smiths and we can repair most problems out there but if it is a problem that we can't handle we will go to the factory and talk to them about that. What you want to do is take your barrel off after playing, swab it out, and dry it. Before you start your playing you want to drop two drops of oil or three into your port right here where the CO2 goes and fire a few rounds. That lubricates everything. You never want to take it apart unless there actually is a problem with it."
